Omdia reported that mild car gross sales have been at 15.3 million in October on a seasonally adjusted annual foundation (SAAR). October US Gentle Car Gross sales Decline 4.5% YoY; 15.3 Million SAAR Lowest in 15 Months (pay website)
Demand in October fell to a longtime low seasonally adjusted annual charge of 15.3 million models as deliveries of battery-electric automobiles tanked and most segments recorded declines.
This was down 6.7% from the gross sales charge in September, and down 5% from October 2024.

This graph exhibits mild car gross sales since 2006 from the BEA (blue) via October (purple from Omdia).
Car gross sales have been over 17 million SAAR in March and April as customers rushed to “beat the tariffs”.
Then gross sales have been depressed in Could and June.
The second graph exhibits mild car gross sales for the reason that BEA began holding information in 1967.
Gross sales in October have been under the consensus forecast of 15.5 million SAAR.
