Maurene Comey, a federal prosecutor concerned in felony instances towards Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, sued the Trump administration on Monday to get her job again after she was fired by President Donald Trump in July.
Comey, the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, obtained no rationalization for her termination, her attorneys wrote within the lawsuit in federal courtroom in Manhattan.
“In reality, there isn’t a respectable rationalization,” they wrote.
“Slightly, Defendants fired Ms. Comey solely or considerably as a result of her father is former FBI Director James B. Comey, or due to her perceived political affiliation and beliefs, or each.”
The lawsuit names the Division of Justice, the Government Workplace of the President and their respective leaders as defendants, together with the Workplace of Personnel Administration and the Government Workplace for U.S. Attorneys.
