Development Spending Decreased 0.1% in July

From the Census Bureau reported that total building spending decreased:

Development spending throughout July 2025 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual charge of $2,139.1 billion, 0.1 p.c beneath the revised June estimate of $2,140.5 billion. The July determine is 2.8 p.c beneath the July 2024 estimate of $2,200.7 billion

Non-public spending decreased and public spending elevated:

Spending on personal building was at a seasonally adjusted annual charge of $1,623.3 billion, 0.2 p.c beneath the revised June estimate of $1,626.3 billion. …

In July, the estimated seasonally adjusted annual charge of public building spending was $515.8 billion, 0.3 p.c above the revised June estimate of $514.3 billion.

Non-public residential (pink) spending is 9.4% beneath the height in 2022.
