Layoffs of federal employees have begun amid the continued U.S. authorities shutdown, Trump administration funds chief Russell Vought mentioned in a social media put up on Friday.

“The RIFs have begun,” Vought wrote on X, utilizing the acronym for “Reductions in Drive.”

The Workplace of Administration and Price range, which Vought leads, confirmed that “RIFs have begun and are substantial.”

Whereas many federal employees have been furloughed due to the shutdown, it’s shouldn’t be the traditional apply in shutdowns to completely lay off authorities workers.
