The U.S. Military Corps of Engineers will instantly pause, and think about canceling, over $11 billion in initiatives because of the authorities shutdown, Trump administration price range chief Russell Vought stated Friday.
“The Democrat shutdown has drained the Military Corps of Engineers’ skill to handle billions of {dollars} in initiatives,” Vought, the director of the White Home Workplace of Administration and Finances, stated in an X submit.
The paused funds pertain to “lower-priority initiatives” in cities together with New York, San Francisco, Boston and Baltimore, Vought stated.
Vought, a co-author of the right-wing guide for main authorities overhaul often known as Undertaking 2025, has been the primary to announce federal layoffs and funding pauses that the Trump administration says are penalties of the shutdown.
