TotalEnergies has appointed Nicola Mavilla as Senior Vice President Exploration, with impact from 1st November 2025. Nicola Mavilla is changing Kevin McLachlan, who held this place since 2015.
Nicola Mavilla has 25 years of expertise within the oil and fuel business and a robust monitor report in main profitable exploration actions. He joined Eni in 2002 and served as exploration supervisor in Libya and Norway, VP exploration for West Africa, VP exploration for Americas and Northern Europe and managing director of Eni Ivory Coast. Since 2024, he was Head of Exploration Tasks of Eni. Nicola Mavilla holds a Ph.D. in Geology from the College of Bordeaux.
TotalEnergies invests round $1 billion yearly in exploration and appraisal, specializing in prospects which have the potential to generate low price, low-emissions oil and fuel developments. The corporate’s exploration actions led to main discoveries over the previous three years, notably in Suriname and Namibia.
